1. Calculation disclaimer

Folio is a record-keeping and computational aid. All PAYE, UIF, SDL, VAT, provisional tax, IFRS and B-BBEE figures produced by Folio are advisory only and must be independently verified by a SAICA-, SAIPA-, or SAIT-registered practitioner before submission to SARS, the B-BBEE Commission, or any other regulator. Folio does not constitute professional tax, accounting, or legal advice.

Tax rates are derived from the SARS 2025/26 schedule. We update Folio within 30 days of SARS publishing a revision; the calculation date is shown on the Tax module.

2. POPIA & cross-border processing

Folio is the responsible party for personal information you upload. By using Folio you consent to processing by the following operators outside South Africa, who are bound by Standard Contractual Clauses providing protection comparable to POPIA:

• Supabase, Inc. (United States / European Union) — database, authentication, storage.
• Google LLC (United States) — receipt OCR via Cloud Vision.
• Resend, Inc. (United States) — transactional email.
• Meta Platforms, Inc. (United States) — WhatsApp Cloud API for client messaging.

You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your workspace from Settings → Account; this triggers a 30-day data-erasure cycle. For POPIA enquiries contact our Information Officer at privacy@folioerp.co.za.

3. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Folio's aggregate liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the fees you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We carry professional indemnity insurance but do not underwrite SARS penalties, interest, or third-party losses resulting from calculation errors, missed filing deadlines, or eFiling format changes outside our control.

4. Service availability

Folio targets 99.5% monthly uptime. Planned maintenance is announced 48 hours in advance. SARS eFiling format changes will be released within 48 hours of SARS publication; we maintain a status page at status.folioerp.co.za.

5. Billing

Prices are quoted in ZAR and exclude 15% VAT. Monthly plans renew on the calendar anniversary of signup; annual plans are billed up-front at a 20% discount and are non-refundable after the 14-day trial. Cancel at any time from Settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.
